Ferienart Resort Spa - Surrounded By The Valais Alps

Ambiente

The Ferienart Resort Spa is one of finer Swiss hotels situated in the middle of the romantic village of Saas Fee and surrounded by a breathtaking mountain landscape. Of the many hotels in Saas Fee, the Ferienart is simply the best.

To explain it: the German word Ferienart means vacation-art or the art of making holidays. That's why the guests here are called vacation artistes and spoiled according to all rules of the art - holidays-like. The rooms vary from comfortable-rustic to modern and luxuriously, the service takes care at the highest quality.

One can't make wellness, says host Beat Anthamatten, one must live it. A philosophy which is already to be felt if one enters the fresh-happy wellness- and vacation hotel.

The guest is greeted with a welcome drink at
the flickering chimney in the lobby. In the room, candles and smells are waiting as well as partly open baths with big whirl tubs.

The romantic-playful and still very cultivated interior decoration conjures up with winking details a harmonious tension field, which is also found on offer.

From the fondue evening up to the gala diner, from the yoga week up to the paraglide weekend, make this countless attractions your stay really an experience.

The strikingly young guests contribute a lot to the cheerful mood, but of course also the basic posture of the Ferienart Resort Spa Hotel: no rules and compulsions. You can have breakfast and do wellness whenever you want.

To the essentials count the barely excelled indoor- and outdoor activity program, the sensually formed Spa, the diverse cuisine in four different restaurants as well as the care to the details which finally makes the big difference.

Spa-Infrastructure

The Ferienart Resort Spa has a fairly good infrastructure for a hotel that
is located high up in the Swiss Alps: A big indoor swimming pool, whirl pool, sauna park, rasul, speeding, body plate, ergo line, solarium, fitness center, looked after gymnastic- and relaxation lessons of yoga, aqua-well and body-shaping.

Body Treatments

Classical and oriental massages, LaStone-therapy, pantai luar, Thai massage, body-forming, choco bath, alpine treatments, and ayurveda applications by a therapist from Sri Lanka who exercises the whole palette of Shiodhara-forhead downpour up to Abhyanga- or Padabhyanga massage with big expertise.

Location and Surroundings

The Ferienart Resort Spa complex is located in the center of car-free Saas Fee at 1800 meters above sea level. The views in Saas Fee are just spectacular, high mountains and hanging glaciers all around the village.

You get to see only electric vehicles which make the crisp mountain air even cleaner and
the noise level in the center extremely low. The only thing you get to hear besides the many visitors from all over the world, are the cow bells during the day.

Activities, Entertainment and Attractions nearby

Fun activities while staying at the Ferienart Resort Spa Saas Fee has a wide, constantly enlarged activity program for three generations. To the investigation of nature, experienced mountain guides, ski- and cross-country ski instructors as well as guides for mountain bike touring are available.

In the big 600 m2 event- and indoor gymnasium, numerous ball sports from hall football through tennis to badminton are possible. There is also a golf simulator and child care available.

Have you ever seen a glacier from the inside? Visit the "Ice Pavilion" at Mittelallalin in 3500 meters above sea level, carved in a huge glacier. And while there, you will have the opportunity in eating at the world's highest revolving restaurant.

Guest Rooms & Suites at the Ferienart Resort & Spa

This 5-Star hotel has 73 rooms, 5 junior suites and 6 suites in comfortable Alpine country style and distributes into the main complex and the new building. Numerous rooms have open baths and big whirl pools.

However for my taste, the rooms are a little small and dark and many don't have views to see the beautiful mountain scenery. The upholstery is a bit old fashioned too for a 5-Star hotel. You will get a better lighter room on a higher floor if you ask for it.

Dining

The culinary offer is many-sided and diverse and no less than five restaurants are available to the guests. The Cäsar Ritz is offering daily 6-course gourmet menus. In the Italian restaurant Del Ponte, one is spoiled the Italian way. A surprise to me was the restaurant Le Mandarin, with Asian specialties.

Also excellent was the Vernissage which has a very creative herbal cuisine. And last but not least was the restaurant Papalagi where you can enjoy the Caribbean-feeling within the wellness oasis. I would say that the food is good but not outstanding. We eat sometimes in one of those restaurants, since we live only a half hour from Saas Fee.

Services & Amenities

In front and behind the scenery, it is cheerfully and calmly. Guests and employees meet accordingly untense. Overall I can say that the staff is friendly and helpful.

What I find good:

The owner Beat Anthamatten shows courage to risk, innovation joy and endurance. He formed and animates a pattern piece of contemporary hotellerie in which wellness is no fashion, but a whole piece of art. Anthamatten knows that it is not enough to be good. It is a matter of becoming better and better. For many years he puts down an admirable tempo and provides for the fact that his 5-Star hotel surprises not only himself, but also prepares his guests an unforgettable joy.

What I don't find that good:

The extensive sauna scenery is illuminated too brightly. I personally think that it doesn't qualify yet as a 5-Star hotel but getting on its way. However, the rates are reasonable and not very expensive.
