The Widder Hotel has 42 rooms and seven suites. No two rooms are alike, so you could decide between a beautiful, classic room with wood decorations, or a modern architect's haven of metal, steel and rivets. Soft jazz is payed when entering the rooms or suites and you immediately notice the beautiful linen sheets on the beds. When you book the Penthouse Suite, you will even get your own small Swiss made Smart car to discover the town.

Dining & Entertainment
The Restaurant has very good food and has been awarded with 15 GaultMillau points. At the hotel, you will find two restaurants more, the Turmstuebli and the Courtyard. Since you are already in the downtown area of Zurich, it is easy to find a good restaurant close to the Widder Hotel. However, one really special place that I highly recommend is the Kunststuben in Küsnacht , only a few kilometers away. The Widder Bar is a place like no other in Zurich and especially for jazz lovers. This tastefully renovated Bar has a rich jazz tradition from musicians from all over the world.
Sport & Leisure Facilities at the property or nearby
A fitness room can be used at Holmes Place, close to the Jelmoli department-store. There are of course other interesting activities to do and close to the hotel. Go for a hike, aquatic sports (nearby), shopping at the famous Bahnhofstrasse, visit one of the city's fifty museums or stroll around Lake Zurich.

High-End Travel Switzerland's Review

The Widder Hotel is unified of eight medieval townhouses with the oldest dating back to 1066. The buildings were originally owned by feudal Switzerland's Guild of Butchers. In 1970, the historic buildings were privately purchased. Architect Tilla Theus has than been selected by a preservation committee to convert them into a modern hotel. The result is a beautifully detailed, interlocking structure to serve high-end guests to the ultimate of luxury. Of all Zurich's luxury hotels, the Widder boasts the most astonishing interior. It is a mix of old and new, stone walls and wooden beams have been perfectly restored and than added with sleek fixtures. The reception is super trendy and the staircase hyper-modern, to mention a few. All of the rooms and suites are individually and creative decorated, and you will find clever touches throughout. I find the black-marbled bathrooms a bit small, but the impression of space is created with a plethora of mirrors. The floors are in stone or wood - no carpets found anywhere. Celebrities who enjoyed the Widder Hotel hospitality and discreet approach include model Cindy Crawford and actor/governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Visit the Widder Bar, no matter if you stay at the hotel. It is live jazz concerts every other Tuesday and a pianist most other nights. Grab your place on the red-leather banquettes, wait for your ordered cocktail and than enjoy one of Zurich's most alluring night spots.
